Retter College Terms and Conditions

Participation certificates at every NLP level are issued by the College to participants who attended 90% of the sessions.

Eligibility for certificates issued by Retter College

Criteria for receiving a "Guided Imagery Practitioner" certificate and an international "NLP Practitioner" certificate

  1. Arriving on time to the sessions, attending 90% of the sessions, and completing the Practitioner course

Each participant may miss at most three sessions in a half-day course, or a day and a half in the full-day course. A participant who misses a lesson can make up the material by watching the recorded course on the website, but this make-up will not count as attendance. Participants who miss more than three sessions must attend in person a course held elsewhere in the country, or the Zoom course, and must also take part in the practice exercises. The make-up must be arranged with the office to make sure the missed material will be taught in that session, and the instructor of the course they wish to sit in on must be informed. After making up a session in another course, the participant must report it to the assistant responsible for recording attendance so that it is marked as "attendance".

There are two sessions that cannot be made up: Session 13 – Opening Up Childhood, and Session 28 – End of the Course. These sessions involve a great deal of intimacy within the group. The entry of a student who is not part of the group could harm group cohesion.

  2. Passing the certification exam for the "NLP Practitioner" level (the open-book exam)

A short exam summarizing the material will be held in the last lesson of the course. Retter College is a member of the Israeli NLP Chamber and meets its certification requirements. This exam is required by the Chamber.

  3. Submitting 25 practice reports according to the following guidelines:

    1. The reports must be completed on the report submission form found in the workbook, and also in the library for Practitioner course students on the College website.
    2. It is recommended to start submitting reports on the practice sessions after the seventh session. It is strongly discouraged to put this off until the middle of the course (after the 14th session).
    3. Reports must be submitted within one week of the practice session at the latest. Do not hold more than two sessions with a client for whom supervision has not yet been received. Do not submit more than five reports for review per week or all at once.
    4. At least one series of seven or more sessions must be held with the same client.
    5. Reports must be submitted on at least 90% of the processes taught. Do not submit more than three reports on the same process, unless stated otherwise in the "tracking table" at the end of the workbook.
    6. A report of low quality, one submitted late, or one that makes no use of guided imagery and NLP will not be counted among the reports.
    7. Assistants will review reports free of charge for up to three months after the end of the course. After that, you must find an assistant to continue reviewing reports, usually for a fee of ₪50 per report.
  4. College staff discretion: Retter College reserves the right not to award certificates even to participants who have met the requirements listed above, if their professional level is unsatisfactory or if they have breached the ethical rules the profession demands.

  5. Recommendation to receive a series of 12 sessions (not mandatory): It is worthwhile to go through a series of sessions with the same facilitator. This can be a participant from another course, or from your own group, with whom you have good chemistry. Retter College will distribute lists of Master course participants who live in your area, and some participants will be able to arrange sessions with them. The sessions will be held free of charge. The person who gives you the series of sessions will submit reports on them in which the client's full name is not stated, only their first name (participants are bound by confidentiality, as are the assistants who review the reports). The series can also be received for a fee from graduates of the program. Those who choose this option should contact the office.

  6. Recommendation: Open a (free) therapist profile on the College website, join the private Facebook group intended exclusively for Retter College graduates, and be members of the Israeli NLP Chamber.

Criteria for receiving a "Guided Imagery Facilitator" certificate and an international "NLP Master Practitioner" certificate

  1. Arriving on time, attending 90% of the sessions, and completing the Master Practitioner course. Make-ups can be done as in the Practitioner course; any session except the final session (28) can be made up.

  2. Delivering a guided imagery to the whole group

During the course, participants are asked to write two guided imageries. One of them will be delivered to the group during the course.

  3. Active participation in the personal presentations at the end of the course

At the end of the course, participants give personal presentations. Details will be provided during the course.

  4. Giving at least one series of facilitation sessions to a Practitioner course participant and concluding it in a planned manner

Practitioner course participants will receive a list of facilitators from the Master Practitioner course, and they will contact you. It is your responsibility to be proactive enough to find a client. If no one approaches you, you can get help from the course instructor or from the office, or advertise yourselves on the College website. The series of sessions should be treated with the seriousness and respect due to a facilitator–client relationship. Submit reports on these sessions and receive supervision on them. It is important to end the series of sessions when the goal (outcome) has been achieved, or in another planned and gradual manner.

  5. Submitting 25 practice reports – on the form intended for the Master Practitioner course.

The guidelines are identical to those of the Practitioner course. In the Master Practitioner course, reports cannot be submitted on processes that were learned in the Practitioner course. If, for example, you conduct the ten questions, do not submit a report on it, but mention it to the assistant. No more than two reports can be submitted on the same process, so that you practice as wide a variety of processes as possible. Reports must be submitted on at least 90% of the processes taught. At least one series of ten or more sessions must be held with the same client. Assistants are obligated to review reports during the course and for up to three months after it ends (and for up to six months in the intensive course). Submitting reports after that is your responsibility. You can ask the person who has reviewed your reports so far whether they wish to continue reviewing them for a fee (the customary fee is ₪50 for reviewing each report). If this arrangement doesn't work out, you must find another assistant to review the remaining reports. You can use the office's services for this.

  6. Passing the certification exam for the "NLP Master Practitioner" level (the open-book exam)

  7. Recommendation: be active participants in the observation exercises. The observation exercises allow the participant who is being observed to learn a great deal about communication patterns and to improve their level of facilitation.

  8. College staff discretion.

  9. Holders of the Master level are advised to create a therapist profile on the College website and take advantage of this advertising platform. Join the private Facebook group to give and receive supervision, and be members of the Israeli NLP Chamber.

The criteria for receiving an "NLP Trainer" certificate

  1. Completing all the requirements for the "NLP Master Practitioner" level, and receiving the certificate.

  2. Arriving on time, attending 90% of the "NLP Trainer's Training" course, and delivering 4–5 presentations during it.

  3. Leading a workshop of five sessions and submitting five reports that will accompany the process of forming the group and leading it.

  4. Passing the exams at the end of the course (a written exam, a presentations exam, and an exam on delivering an NLP process to a group).

Supervision (professional guidance):

Course participants are entitled to receive supervision from the course's team of assistants. The assistants review the reports and can also be approached for advice. In coordination with the assistant, you can also approach the course instructor. Graduates of the program are invited to join the private Facebook group "Retter College Community – Online Supervision and Sharing". The group is very lively and holds a great deal of collective wisdom. A personal supervision session or a telephone consultation with any member of the College's team of course instructors is also available for a fee.

Assistants

Criteria for selecting assistants:

  1. Priority will be given to participants who have practiced extensively and demonstrated proficiency in the material taught.

  2. The course instructor selects the team of assistants who will accompany the course.

  3. Priority will be given to participants in the "NLP Trainer's Training" course.

  4. In every course, the assistant must hold at least the NLP level to which that course qualifies.

  5. If necessary, the course instructor will select assistants who do not meet these criteria.

Duties of the assistants:

Reviewing reports from the beginning of the year until three months after the end of the course. Providing supervision, filling out a "tracking card" for each participant who submits reports for review, and handing the card over to the office at the end of the year. Helping participants who missed sessions make up the study material and, in the Master Practitioner course, going over the visualization that will be delivered in the course. Organizing the attendance list, duty rosters and the setup of the hall. Assistants will receive guidance from the course instructor on providing supervision, and will keep the instructor updated on the participants' progress.

  3. Pre-registration for the two-year study program – Those who pre-register for the entire program are entitled to a ₪2,000 discount on the tuition of the Master Practitioner course. You can join the course up to the fifth session, and participants who pre-registered for one year of study can change this to two years and still receive this discount. Up to the 25th session of the course, you can cancel the registration for the second year and receive a full refund for it, thereby giving up the discount.

Course openings, refunds and the coronavirus procedure

  1. Retter College reserves the right to cancel a course when the conditions required for it to run are not met. Retter College undertakes to do its utmost to open every course as planned.

  2. The registration fee is refunded only when the course is canceled or when the applicant did not pass the admission interview.

  3. You may withdraw from the Practitioner-level training after the first session and pay only ₪350 for it. In this case, the person withdrawing may keep all the professional literature received. The College offices will issue the person withdrawing a letter confirming that they paid a ₪380 registration fee + ₪350 for the first session. This amount (₪730) will be credited toward a future course at the College. After the first session, there is no further refund.

  4. Those registered for both levels may choose not to continue to the Master level, and must notify the College of this by the 24th session of the Practitioner course. After that, registration for the Master courses will be closed and there will be no refund for it.

  5. As part of the study program, you are entitled to attend the NLP New Code seminar (at the end of the Practitioner level) and the Time Line Therapy seminar (at the end of the Master Practitioner level). If you cannot attend one of the seminars in the year in which you studied, you must notify the College offices no later than ten days before the seminar date, and your right to attend that seminar the following year will be preserved. Participants who do not give notice that they will not attend will not be able to attend the seminar the following year.

  6. In the Master Practitioner courses, the NLP Trainer course, and all workshops and specializations offered by Retter College, there is no refund upon withdrawal.

  7. If, due to coronavirus restrictions, a course cannot be held in person, the course will not be canceled but will continue on Zoom; this situation is not grounds for canceling participation in the course. At the end of the training, the lessons taught on Zoom will be counted and the College will credit you with 10% of the tuition for those lessons.

Master Practitioner course and the "NLP Trainer's Training" course

Retter College does not commit to opening follow-up courses everywhere a Practitioner course was held. When necessary, in order to open follow-up courses, several courses that are geographically close to one another are merged. Retter College will announce as early as possible, based on early registration, in which locations courses are planned.

Discontinuation of studies

  1. Retter College reserves the right to discontinue the studies of a participant who, in the College's judgment, cannot continue participating in the course. Studies may be discontinued at any stage of the course.

  2. Retter College reserves the right to refuse admission to the Master Practitioner course to a participant who has completed the Practitioner course.
